13 And so great was the faith of Enoch that he led the people of God, and their enemies came to battle against them;
and he spake the word of the Lord, and the earth trembled,
and the mountains fled,
even according to his command; and the rivers of water were turned out of their course;
and the roar of the lions was heard out of the wilderness;
and all nations feared greatly, so powerful was the word of Enoch, and so great was the power of the language which God had given him.

What is Zion?
How could the people of the City of Enoch have been taken up into Heaven?
When people are translated, their bodies are changed so they will not experience pain and will “never taste of death” (3 Nephi 28:7).
At the time of the Second Coming they will “be changed in the twinkling of an eye from mortality to immortality” (3 Nephi 28:8).
- Zion means The Pure In Heart.
- Enoch was pure in heart.
- The people he taught who obeyed God and came with him built a whole city of people who were pure in heart.

19 And Enoch continued his preaching in righteousness unto the people of God. And it came to pass in his days, that he built a city that was called the City of Holiness, even Zion.
20 And it came to pass that Enoch talked with the Lord; and he said unto the Lord: Surely a Zion shall dwell in safety forever. But the Lord said unto Enoch: Zion have I blessed, but the b residue of the people have I cursed.
21 And it came to pass that the Lord showed unto Enoch all the inhabitants of the earth; and he beheld, and lo,a Zion, in process of time, was b taken up into heaven. And the Lord said unto Enoch: Behold mine abode forever.

- Play the Steps Toward Zion Game:
- Have the children name things they can do each day that will help them become more pure in heart. Have them name things that will take away that purity. (Help them think of more positive than negative things.) Write their ideas on slips of paper and put them in a container. Designate the front of the classroom as “Zion,” and have the children stand side by side in a row facing “Zion.” Pull a slip of paper out of the container, read what is written on it, and have the children move forward one step if the idea will help them become pure or move back one step if the idea would influence them to become unrighteous. Keep reading ideas until the children reach “Zion.”

We believe in being
honest,
true,
chaste,
benevolent,
virtuous, and in
doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the
admonition of Paul-
We believe all things,
we hope all things,
we have endured many things, and
hope to be able to endure all things.
If there is [we seek after ] anything virtuous,
[we seek after anything] lovely,
or [we seek after anything] of good report
or [we seek after anything] praiseworthy,
we seek after these things.
This Article of Faith is also about the things that Enoch learned:
10 We believe in the literal gathering of Israel and in the restoration of the Ten Tribes; that Zion (the New Jerusalem) will be built upon the American continent; that Christ will reign personally upon the earth; and, that the earth will be renewed and receive its paradisiacal glory.
